The 15-7-0 Doesn’t Have a Diploma To Burn Even If It Wanted To

8. It always makes me happy to see the Pittsburgh Steelers lose. If only the Washington Redskins could have done the same.

It felt like things couldn’t have gone better at Reliant Stadium for Ravens fans. The Steelers lost, QB Ben Roethlisberger & LB James Harrison were both banged up, and even in victory the Houston Texans may have lost WR Andre Johnson-who the Ravens have to face in two weeks. Bravo!

Sadly the Skins were not losers themselves, beating the St. Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome.

Fans in DC will try convincing you this week their team is really good because they have the same record (3-1) as the Ravens. You know better. Act accordingly.

9. While you’re looking for him in your fantasy football league, remember the New England Patriots’ RB spells his name “Stevan” Ridley

I know because I scrambled to find him in my own leagues. It’s not my fault Tim Hightower has let me down…

The highlight of the Pats’ win over the Oakland Raiders was of course Vince Wilfork’s interception. It had everything you love about a fat man pick: rumbling, stiff arming AND refusing to go down when tackled. It gets no better…

10. The secret to Illinois’ 5-0 start has been finding the right time to knee their opponents in the balls

Your cue, Jonathan Brown.

Oh…that hurts all the way in Baltimore.

11. Oklahoma is the #1 team in the Coaches’ poll still. I honestly didn’t know that.

Do the coaches know the Sooners AREN’T in the SEC? I know they beat Florida State, but there’s NO WAY they’re the best team in the country right now, right? Maybe the coaches are just REALLY impressed by a win over Ball State…

I always say coaches know more about football than media members do. I might be wrong this time though.

12. Apparently Julio Jones can catch balls DURING games, too!

I of course picked the Atlanta Falcons to win the Super Bowl, but now I can’t tell if they’re any good at all…

I’ll also admit that I’m probably a bit more concerned about the Ravens’ trip to Seattle in a few weeks to face the Seahawks. The Seahawks aren’t any good, but are probably tough to beat at home.

13. I wish Jimmy Graham would have let me know he was planning on becoming the best tight end in the NFL before the season

If he had, I wouldn’t have been stuck with Lance Kendricks as my fantasy tight end…

The Jacksonville Jaguars get to HOST the Ravens in a Monday Night Football game in a few weeks. How funny is that?

14. Add Kenwood to the list of Perry Hall’s “victims” this season

No video of the Gators’ beatdown (I’ll assume the folks at Kenwood simply wanted to destroy the evidence), so instead I’ll share the “Alligator Snapping Turtle” sketch from Jackass 3.5. Imagine Kenwood playing the role of Steve-O…

Elsewhere in High School Football this weekend, I hear Aberdeen lost to North Harford. Attention Mike in Baldwin…I’m placing this loss squarely on your shoulders. We don’t much care for Ken Brinkman’s team around here.

15. Georgia Tech was “held” to 416 yards of offense in a win Saturday…

…do you think Maryland will be able to keep them under 700 next week?

I don’t have a good feeling about this. The Yellow Jackets are powerful. The Terrapins…are vulnerable.
