The 15-7-0 Is The Ultimate Performance Enhancer

7 Not-So-Positive Observations…

1. The good news? The Washington Redskins lost again. The bad news? The New England Patriots are still tied for the best record in the AFC.

The one time I EVER wanted to see the Skins win a game they (of course) let me down. Now I feel like every person who lives in DC!

In a related story, getting “Gronk’d” is almost as good as “Tebowing”…

The Ravens MIGHT be a better team than the Pats, but what’s your matchup answer for Rob Gronkowski? I’ll give you a minute to think about it.

Also in this one, Tom Brady was caught in a sideline screaming match with Offensive Coordinator Bill O’Brien…

This is just further proof that Cam Cameron can’t win in Baltimore. You see, because he and Joe Flacco were yelling at each other earlier in the season and any QB-OC combo that yells CAN’T be any good. This proves it!

(As a note-don’t forget Flacco will join WNST & Ravens LB Brendon Ayanbadejo for “Monday Night Live” Monday at 7pm from Hightopps Backstage Grille in Timonium.)

2. I swear I thought the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were destined to be a good football team.

It isn’t JUST that the Bucs lost 41-14 to the Jacksonville Jaguars, it’s that they allowed the Jags to score 41 unanswered points (including four Maurice Jones-Drew touchdowns) after taking an early 14-0 lead. What the hell happened to them this season?

MJD had a fine day Sunday. Perhaps the only person who might have had a better weekend was Alec Baldwin, thanks to THIS appearance on Saturday Night Live…

And since we’re here, Seth Meyers was also visited by his old friend Stefon on SNL’s Weekend Update. It never stops being funny…

3. No players left the University of Maryland football team this weekend. Unfortunately they somehow had worse news.

Yep, no more Terps have decided to look elsewhere to continue their college careers (although I’ll believe more still will), but instead LB Alex Twine was arrested in College Park for disorderly conduct.

I don’t know for sure, but I imagine it looked something like this…

Punching a car=NEVER A GOOD IDEA. Unless the car did something really bad to you, in which case I understand.

4. Maybe the San Francisco 49ers didn’t get the note. When you see “Arizona Cardinals” on your schedule, that’s supposed to be a win.

I know Patrick Willis didn’t play, but losing to John Skelton and the Cards REALLY hurts the Niners, who may lose a first round bye because of this defeat. That’s tough.

It’s a little embarrassing for Jim Harbaugh and San Fran, but there were others that had embarrassing weekends. For example, Memphis coach Josh Pastner both lost to Murray State AND had his PA announcer (Chuck Roberts) forget who he is…

5. I’m no expert, but I don’t think Jim Mora Jr. was REALLY the guy UCLA wanted to be their next head coach.

Bruins Athletic Director Dan Guerrero said he was thrilled to introduce Chris Peterson Al Golden Kevin Sumlin Steve Sarkisian Mora has his new head coach.

Their coaching search went so wrong I think at one point Rick Neuheisel somehow became a candidate. Eh, it could have been worse. They could have hired Randy Edsall.

And it REALLY could have been worse. After screwing up the process of hiring June Jones away from SMU last week, Arizona State STILL doesn’t have a head coach. Although they DO have this…

So…yeah….

6. Instead of saying he was “relieved of his duties”, the Kansas City Chiefs should have admitted Todd Haley simply “won’t have to deal with Tyler Palko anymore”.

Palko makes Mark Sanchez look like Joe Namath, so the Jets control their destiny to get an AFC Wild Card spot.

The Chiefs fired Todd Haley Monday after the defeat. We’ll always have the memories of him. For example, that time he acted like a jackass…and that other time he acted like a jackass…and all of those other times he acted like a jackass.

7. You probably didn’t notice that Notre Dame LB Manti Te’o decided to return to school for his senior season. Watch how I relate this to the Ravens.

Let’s start thinking past the end of football and towards NFL Draft season.

What do you think the Ravens’ biggest areas of need are? I’d say one would be size at wide receiver. Another would probably be at Offensive Tackle, and perhaps finding a kick returner has to be on the list.

But-I would imagine ILB would have to be treated as a priority at this point, correct? Boston College’s Luke Kuechly will ABSOLUTELY be off the board already and Te’o would seem to be the #2 prospect.

With Te’o now OUT of the picture, targets like Alabama’s Dont’a Hightower and Arizona State’s Vontaze Burfict could find themselves going a bit higher in the round.

Look, there was one college football game at the FBS level this weekend. Finding enough college football related stuff to finish the 15-7-0 was REALLY difficult. Don’t judge me!

You know what, I’ll salvage this. Here’s a video of “Siri” from the iPhone rapping “Hypnotize” by Notorious B.I.G. The language is NSFW. It’s a rap song, folks…

And my “oh no” moment from the weekend outside of football…

Oh no, there are far too many things from outside of football I haven’t had a chance to write about yet.

For example…

-Ryan Braun testing positive for PED’s.
-Frank Mir breaking “Big Nog”‘s arm at UFC 140 and Jon “Bones” Jones dominating AGAIN in a win over Lyoto Machida.
-Amir Khan losing two points (costing him the fight) against Lamont Peterson.
-Chris Paul going to the Los Angeles Clippers??? Khloe Kardashian to the Dallas Mavericks too.
-Everyone involved with Cincinnati/Xavier (except maybe Mick Cronin) looking like a jackass
-And Kentucky/Indiana. You know what, that one was the best. Here’s Christian Watford…

Flexing my mic muscles since 1983…
