The 15-7-0 Might Be Tricky, But It’s Always A Treat

7 Not-so-Positive Observations…

1. While both Maryland and Navy are 2-6, one is significantly more embarrassing than the other.

I’ll start with the Midshipmen, who were embarrassed by Notre Dame but are really okay in general. They at least have an outside chance of still running the table and getting to the Military Bowl, but they have absolutely no margin for error. Fortunately they don’t have to face Michael Floyd again…

And then there’s the Terrapins. Saturday was a historically low moment for the program, as they were embarrassed at home by a Boston College team that can’t even begin to be described with the word awful. The weather stunk, so most students in College Park decided to dress as bleachers for Halloween…

The ONLY positive thing about Saturday’s game was the emergence of Adrian Cosxon (City College), the Florida transfer…

2. The Miami Dolphins are terrible but at least KINDA trying. I don’t feel like we can say the same thing about the Indianapolis Colts.

I feel like the Dolphins are the perfect match for Andrew Luck (he can play immediately, he’ll have the chance to be “the next Dan Marino”, etc.), but Tony Sparano is absolutely not signing off on losing games. Unfortunately they still stink…

I feel like the likely return of Peyton Manning makes Indy a less perfect fit for Luck. As Phil Simms suggested on “Inside the NFL” last week, Manning would be uncomfortable at best with the presence of the youngster. The problem is that the Colts are just steamrolling towards awful…

By the way, the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans got important wins Sunday. Maybe I should have mentioned that earlier.

3. Rarely have I ever rooted for the New England Patriots. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that when I did, they let me down.

It would have been nice for the Ravens to be back in first place before they traveled to Heinz Field Sunday night. Neither the Pats (nor the Pittsburgh Steelers) complied…

Oh well. It’s Pittsburgh week again…not even at Thanksgiving. Time to man up, Baltimore.

Elsewhere in the land of Belichick, Rob Gronkowski’s little brother (Glenn Gronkowski-how the hell many Gronkowski’s are there?) decided to go as his brother for Halloween. Well done.

Now for absolutely no reason at all, here’s another picture of Rob’s friend Bibi Jones. She just seems like such a nice gal…

4. While Towson should not be ashamed of losing to Delaware, it’s a shame their offense couldn’t score once more.

The loss to the Blue Hens is particularly hurtful for the Tigers as they really had every chance to claim victory late…

Now this team needs to go to Maine and win to keep CAA title hopes alive. So…nothing tough there at all, right?

5. Washington Redskins LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

The piss poor effort of the Skins against the Buffalo Bills (including RB Ryan Torain, who had a team high 14 yards on the ground) in Toronto was just fantastic. High fives all around, gang…

The loss was the first time a Mike Shanahan team had even been shut out (HAHAHAHAHAHA!) and was the first for Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick after signing a lucrative contract extension Friday. The Bills apparently decided sticking with Fitzpatrick was a better option than potentially having to turn to a Trent Edwards or JP Losman again. I agree.

6. The New Orleans Saints lost to who? That must be a mistake.

Remember when I said the Browns should be given two losses because the Oakland Raiders played Kyle Boller during their game a few weeks ago? Ditto for the Saints in playing the St. Louis Rams with AJ Feeley. Ugh…

Did David Freese and Allen Craig play for the Rams, too? We’ll get back to them.

In the meantime, the only way I could have enjoyed Sunday’s game if I was a Saints fan would be if that AT&T commercial with the taco party outside Bill’s office came on. That commercial is never not great…

7. You didn’t really think Clemson or Kansas State were really BCS Championship contenders, did you?

The Tigers’ loss to Georgia Tech was maybe a LITTLE surprising…

There was absolutely nothing surprising about Oklahoma’s thrashing of KSU…

Elsewhere in the Big 12, Texas Tech was trounced by Iowa State a week after stunning the Sooners, Brandon Weeden & Justin Blackmon had another big week against Baylor to keep Oklahoma State undefeated and Missouri’s James Franklin did this to lift them past Texas A&M

And my “oh no” moment from outside of football…

Oh no, the Texas Rangers might be cursed worse than the Boston Red Sox.

I’ve heard the argument of the “Curse of George W. Bush.” I might buy it. Clearly Friday night’s Game 7 of the World Series played out just about how we expected it to, but it was still a stunning result based out how the series played out.

I assume this girl was happy though…

worldseries

I think the entire series (for Rangers fans) can be summed up in one video…
