When I left my house (in the corn) for Jimmy’s Famous Seafood in Dundalk to watch UFC 136, the Cornhuskers were getting embarrassed so badly their fortune had turned into decent Twitter and Facebook shtick from their fans. How in the hell did they end up winning? And also, did Bo Pellini really kiss Luke Fickell’s neck after the game?
Elsewhere in the Big Ten, there hasn’t been much talk about Denard Robinson in the Heisman Trophy watch arena. If the Wolverines keep winning the way they did Saturday against Northwestern, there will be.
(Editor’s Note: What’s that? You want to know what I had at Jimmy’s Saturday night? I went with the cream of crab soup and greek salad, thanks for asking.)
I have no video from the Bears’ win-but I’m glad they got it. I DO however have a picture of Playboy’s Miss October Amanda Cerny holding a gator. Isn’t that better anyway? (Thanks, The Smoking Jacket!)
And I DID find video of Coastal Carolina’s win over the Keydets, but I’d rather just watch another David Bennett press conference.
If it was any more southern, he would be taking a sip of sweet tea at the same time. Awesome.
Who cares if the Denver Broncos still lost to the San Diego Chargers? TEEEEEBBBBOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All kidding aside, why wouldn’t the Broncos keep playing Tebow moving forward? Kyle Orton stinks and the Bolts are probably going to win the AFC West anyway. Then again, Norv Turner is still their coach-so I guess you just really don’t know WHAT to expect.
The Kansas City Chiefs receiver’s TD grab against the Indianapolis Colts was ridiculous…
But the New York Giants receiver’s TD grab might have somehow still been even better…
The difference is that Bowe’s catch helped KC win their second straight game despite the fact that they had to start some dude named Jackie Battle at RB; while Cruz later juggled another would-be catch that turned directly into a pick six for Brandon Browner as the Seattle Seahawks stunned the G-Men in the Meadowlands.
The Seahawks lost Tavaris Jackson to a pectoral injury in the win. It would be hard to imagine anyone viewing that as a problem. Their leading receiver was a guy named Doug Baldwin, who is less known than Jackie Battle.
I’m as confused as you.
Tajh Boyd was banged up in the Tigers’ win over Boston College, but in news that is NOT GOOD AT ALL he will apparently be ready to go when Clemson invades College Park next week…
Wake made an emphatic statement with their win over Florida State. Maryland’s struggles hurt worse when the Demon Deacons are finding success.
(Editor’s note: There are no highlights available on YouTube of FSU-WFU. Instead, here’s a new tune called “Drive All Night” by a band called Needtobreathe that I think I enjoy.)
After beating Navy a week earlier, the Air Force Falcons had little to offer against the Fighting Irish in South Bend…
Don’t forget-we have a Maryland/Notre Dame bus trip to FedEx Field in Landover on November 12. $115.70 for game ticket, transportation to and from the game, cold Coors Light on the bus, food (probably Chick-Fil-A), a screening of “Rudy”, etc. It will be fun even if the good guys can’t win.
When the Atlanta Falcons took a 14-0 lead Sunday night, I was feeling really good for picking them. I figured the Pack couldn’t POSSIBLY go 16-0 this season (almost no one has), and there don’t appear to be many more tough games on the schedule. I didn’t know Mason Crosby had 56 yards in his range however…
They still have a trip to San Diego and a Thanksgiving showdown with the Detroit Lions at Ford Field, but if Aaron Rodgers stays healthy undefeated really is possible.
Another note. At one point before the game, Al Michaels asked Cris Collinsworth if he had any more adjectives to describe Aaron Rodgers’ play early on this season.
THAT’S MY LINE, AL! I DON’T GO AROUND ASKING “DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?”!!! COME ON MAN!
While the Greyhounds came back to top the Cardinals, credit Calvert Hall for their trickeration before the half Friday in Roland Park…
The Gators improved to 5-1 Friday night with their win over the Knights. I have no video from the win, but I DID want to give credit to PHHS alum Paige Elizabeth Ogle, who had a nice run on “The X Factor”, although I think she was eliminated recently. Or maybe she wasn’t. I don’t watch the show and the internet has been less than helpful here.
