Monday Morning's Crabs and Beer

I survived all 4.2 miles of Pat’s Run Saturday morning; and I guess I feel as though I did something good for the Pat Tillman Foundation. More than that; I feel as though I am REALLY not in playing shape; as every bone/muscle/eyelash on my body still hurts right now.

I got a text message Saturday from Darren Rudham calling me “handsome and noble”-so color me charmed. I’m reasonably certain the only thing “The First Lady of Crabs and Beer” said to me after the Run was “Can we go to breakfast?”

People are different.

It’s a “Nice to see” edition of Crabs and Beer today….

Nice to see the Birds keep winning a few. I had a bet with a co-host out here that if the Birds stayed in first until this Tuesday he’d do the show (which will be hosting from a car dealership) in an Orioles jersey. I’m not going to win the bet, but at least I got to text him Saturday night after I knew the Birds were going to win the series against a Yankees team he inexplicably claims as his team despite being from Northern California.

Nice to see the Blast playing for another Championship. We don’t know exactly what the future has in store for the MISL; so it is important to enjoy this while it lasts. It’s a shame the Blast didn’t sign up to host Saturday’s Championship Game; there could be quite the scene downtown after the Ravens’ Draft Day party. Hopefully there will be a nice game watch downtown somewhere.

Nice to see Travis Reed return to the Maryland lacrosse lineup and get the Terps back toward winning ways. Getting just one win this weekend would be monumental; getting two would be absolutely world-changing. Unfortunately; I don’t see the Terps beating the Cavs; but with Reed back-they can continue to build towards the Tournament.

Nice to see that Hopkins won’t be left out of the NCAA Tournament picture like we thought they might be a few weeks ago. When they’re clicking, this team is still a legitimate Final Four contender; and we can only hope for just one more difficult out for Duke come May. Look, someone HAS to beat the Devils or there will be a SERIOUS black eye on this sport for years to come. Hopkins has a better chance than Towson, or whatever team could have squeaked in had the Jays lost their last two games.

Nice to see Loyola clinch another trip to the NCAA Tournament. You heard it right here on WNST, as always. What a solid program they have built over there.

Nice to see football; no matter what it looks like. It might have just been a Spring Game; but the Ken Niumatalolo era is showing signs of being real now that the Mids have shown what they can do in front of fans and cameras. When KNKE comes back, this team should be really fun to watch again. Don’t forget to go see the Terps’ Spring Game this Saturday.

And Nice to see that while Crabs and Beer might be without bloggers tonight-everything should be back to normal this week. (Disclaimer: The Diamondbacks ARE at home tonight and tomorrow, The Suns are back in town this weekend, The Rattlers are home again Saturday night, and there IS the whole NFL Draft thing-so I might be spotty this week; but we’re getting closer to the time of year where I don’t have QUITE as much to worry about.)

Let’s see what everyone else has to say…..
