OK GM's...

Ryan Clady , Matt Ryan and all the top CB's are on the board....

Who do you take?

Do you go Matt Ryan and then a CB in round 2?

Do you take Ryan Clady in round 1, then a QB (Flacco, Henne, Brohm) in round 2?

Do you get nuts and take Clady in the 1st, a CB in the 2nd....and then another QB in round 3 (johnson, dixon??)

OK what are you writting on your card...

I take the best player available at his position, regardless of need. At some point, every position becomes a need. Based on what I have seen in the mock drafts that player will likely be Sedrick Ellis, DT from USC.

I take Matt Ryan if hes there for sure......I can tell you Henne and Brohm are not the answer. Henne couldn't win any big games at Michigan and never showed me any leadership. I like Flacco, but i don't see him being ready anytime soon. Then i look to trade back in late in the first round to try and get Aqib Talib or wait at our 2nd round pick and select WR James Hardy or CB Tracy Porter out of Indiana.

Sam sorry you are out of your mind if you think Ryan is better then Henne or Brohm for that matter... Henne is a 4 year starter and Brohm a 3. Ryan is a 2 year.. Past picks of QB starters with 2 or less years experience don't pan out 2 well.. Not to mention Henne and Brohm both have better numbers I believe... Any how, Get your corner or trade down to get Brohm or Henne later..

Ideal Scenario: I call the Panthers or Bears and offer them my # 8 pick for their # 1 and number 2 picks. I drop down and take Brohm at 13 or 15. Then I use my second round picks and select Charles Godfrey, CB/Safety out of Iowa and whoever else is the highest rated player on my draft board. If I can't get someone to trade down with I select Ryan Clady and try to trade back into the tail end of the first round and grab either Brohm or Flacco. I don't think there is much difference in Ryan, Flacco, or Brohm and none are worthy of a pick in the top 10. I think all should be picked between 15-40 but you know that won't happen. I personally wouldn't touch Henne with a 10 foot pole. His statistics went down each year he was at Michigan and in the 8 games involving either Ohio State or a bowl team Henne was 1-7. If I draft Clady and Brohm, Flacco and Ryan are gone by the time I pick in the second round I select Godfrey and target Eric Ainge with the supplemental pick I picked up in the 3rd round.

Hey there, KZ. I believe the safest option would be to pass on Matt Ryan, pick up Ryan Clady (just in case J.O. truly hangs it up this year) and try to pick up Joe Flacco later on. It wouldn't make a difference this year whether Flacco or Ryan played because this offense needs to get its engine started for the long run. After all, that is why we got Cam Cameron!

- JH

Throw in the towel...the Ravens are done for some years to come.

Re: OK RAVENS ARE ON THE CLOCK...what do you do? By Raymond (baltimore) on 4/21/2008 8:01 PM

I see if someone wants to trade back a few spots with a team that wants to take Matt Ryan or Ryan Clady. I don't want Ryan at all, and think that the potential difference b/w Clady and Gaither is minimal. If there aren't any trade partners. DRC it is

Re: OK RAVENS ARE ON THE CLOCK...what do you do? By Raven Fan on 4/21/2008 8:02 PM

If Matt Ryan is there at 8, I take him in a NY minute. However, I do not believe he will be there. Arthur Blank (aka Peter Angelos) will overrule his front office and grab Matt Ryan. Therefore, we take Ryan Clady or Sedrick Ellis or Leodis McKelvin. If none of them are there, try to drop back to 20-31 and grab Joe Flacco. Use the extra pick and pick up one of the top CBs like Mike Jenkins. If the Ravens are unable to trade back, then whatever QB is available at 38 will have to be taken. There is no QB in the 3rd round or later that is any good.

I think we should trade back to late in the first, pick Aqib Talib and use the extra pick and our second pick to move into the end of the first to get Chad Henne. The Ravens have no depth at corner and our starters are getting old. We have to go against Ward, Edwards, and Johnson. There is no question in my mind that they pick a CB with the first pick.
