I have stated before that I do not cover the Caps or Wizards, mostly because they play in the same city as the Redskins and Nationals-and there is no chance in hell I would cover either of those teams. I cannot FOR THE LIFE OF ME understand why a Baltimore Sports fan would root for a Washington-based team when in the same breath they would curse the existence of the Redskins.
 
I could especially never condone rooting for the Wizards, as I have no desire to support an organization that previously turned its back on the city of Baltimore.
 
So here’s my question….
 
Besides those of you that for reasons completely beyond me REGULARLY root for teams like the Wizards and Capitals……
 
Baltimore sports fans-Have you ever openly rooted for a Washington team?
 
Again, if you consider yourself a “fan” of the Wizards, Caps, etc……I am excluding you from this discussion. This is for those of us that normally could totally care less what Gilbert Arenas is up to now. The thing is……we’ve all strayed. And I’m not talking about a time where you were just “interested” in a Washington team (hell-even I was paying attention when the Caps made a run to the Stanley Cup finals-but I certainly didn’t own even as much as a t-shirt.)
