Welcome BACK to rebuilding.

THIS is what you are going to get from the Birds this season. Occasional overachieving, mind-numbing mistakes, exciting moments, pride, anger, joy, more anger, even more anger, and probably general disinterest.

They are NOT a team that will compete for the AL East title. They are a rebuilding team. Adam Jones COULD be a FUTURE star. He is not a star now.

Matt Albers, Garrett Olson, Jeremy Guthrie, Brian Burres, Daniel Cabrera, and Adam Loewen are ALL pitchers who this organization is trying to find out what they might have to offer in the future.

Nothing is solid here. Enjoy the good moments, but be prepared for more days where you want to pull your hair out (like today); than days where you want to call everyone and brag (like Tuesday).

I was around a team that became a winner in a rebuilding year (2007 Diamondbacks). The ’08 Orioles are NOT the ’07 Diamondbacks.

I will mark the date as May 28 when the Birds will fall under .500 and remain there the rest of the season.

Let’s see what everyone else has to say…..
