William Vanzela Named MISL Player of the Week

Adauto Neto Honored with Team of the Week Selection


Baltimore: The Major Indoor Soccer League announced on Tuesday that Baltimore Blast goalkeeper William Vanzela has been named the MISL Player of the Week for the 11th week of the 2013-14 regular season. Vanzela claimed his second Player of the Week selection of the season after he allowed only three goals as the Blast took a pair of victories during the weekend.

Vanzela has had an outstanding second season in the MISL and leads the league with a 4.84 goals-against average and .844 save percentage. He added to those totals this past weekend as he made 11 saves in the Blast’s 10-5 win against the Syracuse Silver Knights on Friday, and 12 saves in a 17-2 win against the Rochester Lancers on Saturday.

Joining Vanzela on the Team of the Week was his Blast teammate Adauto Neto, who had eight points in Baltimore’s two victories.
