I so closely associate Matt Birk with giving back to our community that I almost feel like he may have started doing it even before he ever played here.

The H.I.K.E. Foundation may be no more, but will there ever be another athlete to grace us that announces his retirement…while committing to build a “reading oasis” at an area school? He’s the best.

    I seem to recall when he was inducted into the Ravens Ring of Honor that Michael McCrary was mentioned as one of the most significant charitable athletes in Baltimore sports history.
