After taking a leave of absence in mid-August, Orioles pitching coach Rick Adair reportedly won’t return next season.

According to several reports, the Orioles had already compiled a list of candidates to potential replace Adair in case he would not be back as pitching coach. Those names include interim pitching coach Bill Castro and former Orioles pitcher and interim bullpen coach Scott McGregor.

Adair took a leave of absence for personal reasons that included the terminal illness of his father, who passed away in September.

The Orioles hope to announce a replacement within the next few days, but the rest of manager Buck Showalter’s staff is expected to be retained.
