Angelos is an Evil Monster

Anything Peter Angelos doesn’t control he hates. Everything Peter Angelos controls he destroys.

I keep hearing and reading something that I cannot stand.  It has to do with the MASN and the Ravens.

The general attitude that I have a problem with is this…”Well, it’s kinda the Ravens fault because they know how Angelos works, so they should have been better prepared” or “when dealing with MASN and Angelos, this is what you should expect, so the Ravens are at fault for thinking it would be any other way.”

To quote Meatloaf “STOP RIGHT THERE”

When there are 2 parties involved in a negotiation, and one of the parties is an evil monster, who has no interest in reaching a fair middle ground, but only has interest in a one sided deal that only favors him, it is NOT the other sides fault for beginning the negotiation.

A very small example of this happened last year with WNST and the Orioles.  The Orioles have made in VERY CLEAR that they will not engage in any way, at all, with WNST.  OK.  So what responsibility does WNST have to work with the Orioles?  The answer in none.  WNST starting running a promotion for dollar night and giving money to Nick Markakis’s charity, and before the whole thing was one day old, WNST got a letter telling them to stop.  And too many people in this town blamed WNST.  WHAT????  The Orioles have made it clear WNST does not exist to them, so why would WNST deal with the Orioles.  They shouldn’t.

This is perfect analogy with what went on with MASN and the Ravens.  MASN has made it clear they will be doing business on their terms, and worked hard and putting the Ravens in such a bad position, being so close to the start of the season, that the Ravens would have no choice but to deal with MASN.  Fine, that’s what happened.  But stop blaming the Ravens.

Anything Peter Angelos doesn’t control he hates. Everything Peter Angelos controls he destroys.
