Eight straight losses and I’ve been the nicest guy in town…

June 18, 2007 | Drew Forrester

I guess you haven’t noticed, huh?

The O’s have lost eight straight games at home and you’ve barely heard a peep out of me.

I’m starting to wonder whether or not my impending entry into fatherhood (July 29 or thereabouts) might very well be softening me up a tad.  Sheesh, I hope not!  lol

Alan from Towson e-mailed me on Saturday with this gem.  My response follows:

You’re letting me down big time!  I check your blog every hour or two to see when the big “I told you so” blog is coming about the hapless O’s, but it looks like you’re laying off of them.  What gives “chief”? (to borrow one of your terms).

I want to read some good old fashioned bashing.  After all, you were right on the money about this cast of misfits.

It’s almost not fair to gang up on them now.  They’re so bad and they’re struggling so much that I’m not sure I have it in me to crush them.  Besides, the organization – or at least certain members of it – are getting precisely what they deserve for the way they’ve treated the fans, the media and their own ticket buyers.  I can’t make them any more miserable than they already are, trust me.

Alan got me to wondering if I was being too soft on them.  Well, in all honesty, I wasn’t on the air (live) Friday, the day after their 3-game sweep at the hands of the Nats.  And I haven’t had much chance to talk or blog about the Diamondbacks weekend series.

But that will all change tomorrow morning.

For starters, we’ll address the managerial situation.

And we’ll talk about who to ship out of here now that the season is officially over.

Alan, if you’re reading this, thanks for that swift kick in the rear.

I’ll be ready to harrass them tomorrow morning, don’t you worry.
