The Orioles announced Monday that they have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Tommy Hunter on one-year contracts, thus avoiding arbitration.

Hunter, 26, was 7-8 with a 5.45 ERA (133.2IP, 81ER) in 33 games (20 starts) for the Orioles in 2012. In his last 10 appearances of the year (all in relief), Hunter was 3-0 with a 0.71 ERA (12.2IP, 1ER).

The Orioles now have seven arbitration eligible players: catcher Matt Wieters, infielder Chris Davis, left-handed pitchers Troy Patton and Brian Matusz, and right-handed pitchers Jason Hammel, Jim Johnson, and Darren O’Day.
