Gamboa no-hitter highlight of minor league weekend – 6/30

Here’s what happened down in the Orioles’ farm system on Sunday…

*  Eddie Gamboa pitched a no-hitter as Double-A Bowie beat Harrisburg 7-0. “The crazy thing about the last inning is it’s the only inning I’ve gone where I only threw knuckles. If I was gonna give it up, it was going to be sticking with the knuckleball,” said Gamboa. This pitching effort came a day after a positive Wei-Yin Chen outing during his rehab assignment.

* Josh Stinson allowed three earned runs in seven innings as a five run rally in the eighth boosted Triple-A Norfolk past Gwinnett 7-3

* Luc Rennie gave up three earned runs in 4 1/3 innings as Single-A Frederick lost to Winston-Salem 8-2

* Juan Guzman allowed six earned runs in 5 1/3 innings as Single-A Delmarva lost to Greensboro 7-6

* Austin Urban gave up two earned runs in 4 1/3 innings as short-season Single-A Aberdeen was beaten by Staten Island 6-2
