Respect, hot chocolate, and cheese stea

April 12, 2007 |

Adam Loewen earned some more respect from his teammates in the top of the 5th inning when he drilled Gary Sheffield with a pitch after Justin Verlander had hit Miguel Tejada in the 3rd inning.

I am sure Miguel Tejada appreciates the fact that Adam was willing to show the Tigers that it is not okay to hit one of his teammates with a pitch. I know some baseball purists do not like it, but to me, that is part of what baseball is all about.

The thing with hitting a guy with a pitch in retaliation is that you can not make it look obvious — like if Adam would have hit the first Tigers’ batter he saw after Miguel was hit.

Good news! I found the hot chocolate that I have been searching for the last two nights — now if I could only find the fluffy marshmallows.

Celebrity sighting at the ballpark tonight — Mike from Mike’s Doughboys! Do not tell anyone, but Mike was wearing an Orioles hat and shirt. Rumor is that Rob asked him if he had any cheese steaks in his car, and if so, could he get one to go.

It is well documented that I am a fan of Kevin Millar and what he brings to the team. Kevin was playing a mean air guitar with his bat during batting practice. Kevin is a big Godsmack fan and was airing it out to the song “Speak.”
