Strike one – To quote WNST’s morning show host, “Why should I promote a night at the ballpark when the O’s don’t care to engage ALL the media in help with promotional efforts?”
Strike two- This is the beginning of the Boston series when they need to call out to all homers and fans to come out and root on the O’s.
Strike three – They miss a perfect opportunity to market a promotion aimed directly at women and girls. How better to promote a father/daughter night at Camden Yards by bringing the winner of a popular reality show and popping a make up tent up on Eutaw Street.
The O’s went to the trouble of bringing out America’s Next Top Model Winner Whitney Thompson out for autographs and to throw out the first pitch. Plus, Covergirl will be under a tent on Eutaw Street doing makeovers. What a great way to make girls excited about going to a baseball game.
Too bad they missed the boat on marketing this event.
