According to my friends at NFL Draft Bible, the Ravens have added two Undrafted Free Agents Sunday night. The two players are Buffalo QB Drew Willy and Michigan DT Will Johnson.
Willy is a a 6’4″, 214 pound QB who lead the Bulls to a MAC Championship this past season and a trip to the International Bowl. He finished his career with 8,748 passing yards and 52 TD’s. In his senior year, he was 304 of 468 with 25 TD’s and 6 INT’s. The individual play that highlighted his career was…..
Johnson is a 6’5″, 285 pound DT who collected 81 tackles during his career with the Wolverines. During his senior season, he tallied 29 tackles and 2 sacks.
Add Ole Miss FB Jason Cook to the list. Cook is 5’11”, 248 pounds; he started 7 of the 13 games he played in his senior season. He caught 7 passes for 47 yards with 1 TD, he also rushed once for 1 yard. He also served as a team captain for the Rebels.
The Pensacola News-Journal now reports that the Ravens have added Florida State kicker Graham Gano. I have been speculating for weeks that the Ravens would draft the reigning Lou Groza Award winner. Gano was both the kicker and punter for the Seminoles, and went 24/26 kicking field goals in 2008. The most impressive thing about Gano is his big leg; as he connected on 5 of 7 attempts from beyond 50 yards.
Also from NFL Draft Bible, Georgia LB Dannell Ellerbe has signed with the Ravens. Ellerbe is 6’1″, 236 pounds, and posted a 4.63 40 at the Combine. In his senior season with the Bulldogs, he tallied 33 tackles (6 TFL’s), 2 sacks, and 6 quarterback hurries.
(1:26 Update) A whole slew of new names to report as far as Ravens UFA’s; including Duke WR Eron Riley (6’3″, 205 pounds), who put up a total 101 catches for 1,523 yards and 17 TD’s over the last two seasons. Also, Duke OT Cameron Goldberg, Western Kentucky OL Greg Ryan, and Minnesota DE Willie VanDeSteeg.
(1:55 Update) The agent for former Maryland WR Isaiah Williams has confirmed with me that the former Terp has signed with the Ravens. Williams is 6’3″, 200 pounds; and finished his college career with 64 catches for 902 yards and 5 TD’s.
(4:48 Update) According to this release from Duke, Cameron Goldberg actually signed with the Chiefs; but Eron Riley did sign with the Ravens. As Eric DeCosta mentioned this morning with Drew, players often agree to deals but things change before they can sign anything.
Also according to NFL Draft Bible, Maryland DT Jeremy Navarre has signed with the Jaguars; LB Dave Philistin has signed with the Seahawks; while OT Scott Burley and C Edwin Williams have signed with the Redskins. LB Chase Bullock has also signed with the Cardinals.
(9:28 edit: According to a press release from the University of Maryland, Philistin signed with the Cardinals, not the Seahawks. Also, LB Trey Covington signed with the Jets. The release also states that DL Dean Muhtadi and OL Dane Randolph personally said they would be receiving tryouts from the Packers.)
(9:44 edit: The University of Maryland has re-sent their press release with two corrections. 1-Trey Covington has apparently NOT signed with a team, 2-Dave Philistin DID sign with the Seahawks, not the Cardinals. Boom goes the dynamite.)
Bill Wagner of the Annapolis Capital has reported that former Navy FB Eric Kettani and WR Tyree Barnes have signed with the Patriots. Both are expecting a rule change that will allow them to play after 2 years of active service.
NFL Draft Bible is now reporting that former Morgan State DT Lonnie Harvey has signed with the Panthers.
And Comcast Morning Show favorite Jovan Belcher (Maine DE) has signed with the Chiefs.
