Terrell Suggs met with the media today for the first time since being injured in the Monday Night Football loss to the Browns by a low hit from Brady Quinn. Terrell tried to keep the conversation directed towards his disappointment in missing his first career game(s), saying “I’m really crushed that I’m gonna miss my first game….I was trying to beat Ozzie (Newsome).” (Ozzie did not miss a game in his Hall of Fame NFL career.) He was particularly crushed that the injury happened now; with the Ravens facing a brutal stretch where they play the Colts, Steelers and Packers in successive weeks; adding “this couldn’t have come at a worse time.” He said he doesn’t believe the injury will cost him the rest of the season, noting “I’m usually a pretty good healer.”
As far as the hit itself, T-Sizzle told us that he has not gone back to watch it again; so he didn’t want to comment on whether it was a dirty hit. He said it “felt like” Brady Quinn hit him low when it happened. He hasn’t heard from Quinn yet with an apology, and said Quinn’s $10,000 fine was only enough if “that’s what I would have got had I did it to him.” He also said he expects Paul Kruger to do a “great” job while he’s out; noting that the rookie from Utah is his “apprentice” and “a direct reflection of me.”
2:42-RB Matt Lawrence left the facility today on crutches. He is battling a knee injury that kept him out of the Browns game. It looked pretty bad-a number of teammates gathered to talk to him-which is commonplace when someone suffers a season-ending injury. That hasn’t been indicated as of yet; but could be a concern. Lawrence had been a valuable contributor on special teams, and had been active for most games this season.

LB Terrell Suggs
Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron
Defensive Coordinator Greg Mattison
Special Teams Coordinator Jerry Rosburg
C Matt Birk (neck) returned to practice after missing Wednesday. Todd Heap (chest) was also dressed and on the practice field; but it didn’t look like he’d be doing much of anything today. As expected, RB Matt Lawrence (knee) and LB Terrell Suggs (knee) each remained out, while DT Haloti Ngata (ankle) was out there for a 2nd straight day.
K Billy Cundiff is channeling the great Kyle Boller and donning #7, he spent most of his time in practice today working on onsides kicks. New practice squad DB Marcus Paschal is wearing #30. The Ravens had an official out at practice today; presumably to watch for holding as the Ravens face a daunting task in Dwight Freeney Sunday.
11:28-Greetings from 1 Winning Drive! I’m not sure I understand this; but after practicing late yesterday to try to keep his guys as fresh as possible for Sunday coming off the Monday Night Football game in Cleveland-John Harbaugh is actually having the Baltimore Ravens practice EARLY today. The Ravens are scheduled to hit the practice field here momentarily; which means we won’t hear from Cam Cameron, Greg Mattison and Jerry Rosburg until this afternoon.
Back with a practice update shortly.
