Live From Owings Mills: Ravens Putting in Extra Day of Work Before Monday Night Football

December 02, 2009 | Glenn Clark

1:30-“The Frozen Tundra” was the most popular topic of conversation in the locker room today; especially with Matt Birk, who made the trip every year while he was playing for the Minnesota Vikings. Birk downplayed the “mystique” factor at Lambeau, saying “once you get out there and the ball’s kicked off, it’s just football.” He added that the success the Packers have had in December likely has more to do with how good they’ve been as a team than with the weather conditions or the aura of Lambeau.

Derrick Mason added “it’s an honor playing there, but we’re not playing the stadium. That’s a good thing.”

1:20-Greetings from 1 Winning Drive, where the Baltimore Ravens put in an extra day of work today before Monday night’s trip to Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers. The Ravens will hold a regular 3 day work week starting tomorrow and extending to Saturday before shipping off to Wisconsin for a key non-conference showdown. John Harbaugh was not available to the media today, and the Ravens do not have to release an injury report until tomorrow, I wouldn’t expect to hear anything injury-wise any sooner. Terrell Suggs (knee) is clearly the player everyone will want to know about-he was not available today. While I still think it is a long shot that T-Sizzle would return in time for the game Monday, we will certainly await any word we can receive from him.
