NO NEWS ON REED STATUS: Defensive Coordinator Greg Mattison had no update on whether or not Safety Ed Reed would be activate in time for Sunday’s game.

“Ed Reed will let us know when Ed Reed is ready to go” said Mattison. “Ed Reed will only go out and play if he thinks he can play well enough to help win.”

Mattison admitted that there were “a lot of smiles” when Reed returned to the practice field Wednesday, adding “God he looked good out there.”

Mattison also discussed the return of LB Brendon Ayanbadejo from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list this week, saying “when (Ayanbadejo) is ready to go and he feels completely comfortable with his body and with his mental part of it, then he’s earned the right to be back where he’s been.”
