News and Notes from 1 Winning Drive

October 29, 2008 |

Here are some notes from media session here at 1 Winning Drive:

– Demetrius Williams is done for the year and will have to undergo surgery to repair a bone spur that is under his achilles. This is something that has been bothering Williams since  June according to Coach Harbaugh. Demetrius  went and saw a doctor in Los Angeles earlier this week who recommended surgery immediately. They are going to have to scrape the bone spur off and it will be a very delicate surgery.

– The Ravens have added Terrance Copper to the roster to take Williams spot. Copper was sigend as an undrafted free agent out of East Carolina in 2004 and spent 2004 and 2005 with the Cowboys before playing with the Saints the last two seasons.

-Samari Rolle’s  status for Sunday’s game against the Browns  could be a game time decision, depending on how he makes it through practice this week. He participated in the walk thru this morning but they will have to wait and see how he progresses through the week.

-Chris McAlister went to Miami earlier this week to see Dr. Uribe to get a second opinion on his knee. McAlister did not participate in the walk thru today and will not practice this afternoon. The Ravens are waiting to hear the results of his visit with Dr. Uribe. Coach Harbaugh said they feel like they have a good idea of what is going on with McAlister and his knee  and it is really between McAlister and the doctors to make a decision as to what is best for him going forward. The Ravens expect they will know more about his status by the end of the week. Coach Harbaugh did say that surgery is an option for him and it potentially could be an injured reserve situation.
