The Ravens claimed former Cincinnati Bengals safety Jeromy Miles off waivers on Monday.

The fourth-year product from the University of Massachusetts played in the season opener for the Bengals before being waived, re-signed, and finally waived again on Saturday prior to the Bengals’ Week 3 meeting with Green Bay. At 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, Miles has good size and will serve primarily in a special-teams capacity.

According to The Sun, Baltimore waived rookie safety Brynden Trawick to make room for Miles on the 53-man roster. Trawick accidentally ran into Pro Bowl return specialist Jacoby Jones while the latter was trying to field a punt in the season opener. The collision sprained the medial collateral ligament in Jones’ right knee in the process.

Miles has 49 career tackles and had spent his entire career with the Bengals after being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2010.
