Ravens have (rare) golden opportunity on Sunday at New England

I’ll happily admit that Baltimore’s 4-1 record to date is only moderately impressive given a pair of home wins over obviously inferior teams (Cleveland, Denver), but the two road triumphs at New York and Pittsburgh are more than enough to convince me that our purple birds are for real.

Sunday in New England is one of those “under the hood games” as I like to call them.

We’ll see what the Ravens are made of and whether or not that engine of theirs is an 8-cylinder humming along nicely or a 4-cylinder in need of a tune-up.

One game does not a season make – especially when that game is on the road – but a Baltimore win on Sunday would put John Harbaugh’s team comfortably at the top of the AFC.  A loss wouldn’t be all that harmful.  New England is a tough place to play, after all.
