Ravens-Jaguars pre-game notes and inactives

BALTIMORE — Playing their third preseason game of the summer, the Ravens face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars at M&T Bank Stadium beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The Jaguars are 2-0 in the preseason while the Ravens hold a 1-1 record after falling to the Detroit Lions by a score of 27-12 last Friday in Baltimore. The Ravens have won 11 of their last 14 preseason games.

Playing each other for the first time ever in the preseason, the old AFC Central rivals have met 17 times in the regular season with the Ravens owning a 7-10 record against Jacksonville. Last season, it was the lowly Jaguars shocking Baltimore in a nationally-televised Monday night game in an ugly 12-7 contest on Oct. 24.

According to CBSSports.com’s Jason La Canfora, rookie kicker Justin Tucker will play the entire game with Billy Cundiff receiving the night off, which is certainly an interesting development in the well-chronicled kicking competition.

Starting right guard Marshal Yanda will not play against Jacksonville after he was undercut during Monday’s workout and sat out Tuesday’s practice. Coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday that Yanda had tweaked his leg, but the injury was not considered to be serious.

Veteran Bobbie Williams will start at right guard, moving over from the left side where rookie Kelechi Osemele will take his place. Bryant McKinnie will start at left tackle while Michael Oher will work at right tackle as expected based on practices over the last week.

Defensive end Pernell McPhee is back with the team after being away to deal with the death of a family member. He was going through pre-game warmups and appeared ready to play against Jacksonville despite having not practiced all week.

Though not listed among the inactives, linebacker Sergio Kindle was not going through pre-game warmups with the Baltimore linebackers and will not play. He suffered a shoulder stinger in last week’s game against the Detroit Lions and practiced with a red non-contact jersey all week.

Meanwhile, safety Sean Considine was dressed out and going through pre-game warmups
