Ray Lewis gets number seven while Flacco and Harbaugh looking for number seven

November 12, 2008 |

For the seventh time in his NFL career, Ray Lewis is the AFC Defensive Player of the Week. Lewis picks up the award after his 2 interception performance against the Texans on Sunday.

- The Ravens are looking for a win on Sunday to improve to 7-3 and stay in the playoff hunt, but for Coach Harbaugh and Joe Flacco, it would tie them into an NFL record. Dom Capers and Kerry Collins currently hold the record for most wins through nine games by a rookie quarterback and rookie head coach in the Super Bowl era(since 1966) with seven. Capers and Collins accomplished this feat while they were together on the 1995 Carolina Panthers team. Currently the Ravens combo of Harbaugh/Flacco are tied with Mike Smith and Matt Ryan of the Falcons (2008) and Ray Perkins and Phil Simms of the Giants(1979) with six wins.
