Sunday a week ago, the Ravens made Ken Brinkman and a bunch of Steelers supporters at North Harford High School miserable with their 17-14 road win in the Steel City.
Today, the Ravens made Brinkman happy as he was named the area’s high school football coach of the week by the Ravens after North Harford narrowly edged Fallston on Friday night.
Brinkman, you might recall, was the man who put together the Steelers visit to North Harford last March, where they played teachers and faculty in a game of basketball to raise funds for the school’s football program.
Now, in all fairness, the coach has done a fine job as the head man of the North Harford football program. He’s also been lauded as an excellent teacher. My guess is that he’s also a good husband and father.
But he’s a Steelers fan. Something the Ravens chose to ignore today when they made him their coach of the week.
Congrats to Coach Brinkman on his award. Like Joe Flacco’s game-winning drive in Pittsburgh 8 days ago, it’s about time.
