Top 10 Baseball Distractions

8. Boxing: Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. vs. Sergio Martinez (Saturday 9pm from Las Vegas live on HBO PPV), Saul Alvarez vs. Joselito Lopez (Saturday 9pm from Las Vegas live on Showtime)

I could lie and tell you I’m interested in boxing matches this weekend, but I’m not. So instead, I think this is an appropriate place to discuss everyone’s feelings about the new Candy Corn Oreos…

I don’t love Candy Corn. I’m receptive. If there’s candy corn setting in a dish somewhere that I am, I’ll politely partake. I’m considerate, after all. But would I go out of my way to purchase Candy Corn flavored Oreos? It feels unlikely. I’ll let you guys tell me if I’m crazy here.

7. Golf: LPGA Ricoh Women’s British Open (Thursday-Sunday 9am from Wirral, England live on ESPN); Champions Tour Pacific Links Hawai’i Championship (Friday-Sunday from Kapolei, HI live on Golf Channel)

Yeah, still nothing of interest here for me. I’ll take Annika Sorenstam to win the Open.

Before someone accuses me of sexism, I don’t really care about the men’s British Open either. Honest to God I don’t even remotely remember who won the Open Championship without going back to check online. (THAT’S RIGHT! I REMEMBER HE HIT THAT SHO READING AFTERWARDS THAT HE WON!)

Truth be told, I’ll spend more time watching this video Deadspin posted of ducks crossing a highway (which is REALLY dramatic) than I will the women’s Open Championship.

Holy hell.

6. Tennis: Davis Cup semifinal-Team USA vs. Spain (Friday 6am & 9am Saturday 8am Sunday 6am & 9am from Gijon, Spain live on Tennis Channel); World Team Tennis Championship weekend: Eastern Conference Championship-Washington Kastles vs. New York Sportimes (Saturday 6:30pm from Charleston live on, World Team Tennis Championship (Sunday 3:30pm from Charleston live on NBC Sports Network)

The good news for Team USA? No Rafael Nadal for Spain. The bad news? Their players are still better than ours.

BUT….Twitter proves that our Kelly Brook is still hotter than theirs…

5. Auto Racing: NASCAR Chase For the Cup: Geico 400 (Sunday 1pm from Joliet, IL live on ESPN), IndyCar Series MAVTV 500 IndyCar World Championships (Saturday 8:30pm from Fontana, CA live on NBC Sports Network)

OH SNAP! It’s playoff time, baby! My guy is Rusty Wallace, what about you?

And it’s Championship weekend in IndyCar! Holy crap. I’ll assume Oriol Serva is the favorite since Orioles have been winning everything this year.

I can’t fully contain my excitement! I’m like a gal on a stripper pole at a Chicago Bears game!
