Top 10 Baseball Distractions

8. NBA: Washington Wizards @ Utah Jazz (Wednesday 9pm from Salt Lake City live on Comcast SportsNet), Minnesota Timberwolves @ Washington Wizards (Friday 7pm from Verizon Center live on Comcast SportsNet), Chicago Bulls @ Washington Wizards (Saturday 7pm from Verizon Center live on Comcast SportsNet/WGN), Sacramento Kings @ Washington Wizards (Monday 7pm from Verizon Center live on Comcast SportsNet)

Basketball legend Bill Russell attended President Obama’s inauguration. Let’s see ABC’s George Stephanopolous’ thoughts…

PROGRESS!

7. Mixed Martial Arts: UFC on FOX 6-Demetrious Johnson vs. John Dodson (Saturday 8pm from Chicago live on FOX), Bellator MMA (Thursday 10pm from Thackerville, OK live on SpikeTV)

What a priceless picture this is. Moments after older brother Arthur Jones’ Baltimore Ravens topped younger brother Chandler Jones’ New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game, both brothers took the time to pose with their father and their brother (UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon “Bones” Jones).

We’ve had the pleasure of getting to know the Jones family in recent years here in Charm City. This was pretty cool.

6. NHL: Winnipeg Jets @ Washington Capitals (Tuesday 7pm from Verizon Center live on Comcast SportsNet), Montreal Canadiens (Thursday 7pm from Verizon Center live on Comcast SportsNet), Washington Capitals @ New Jersey Devils (Friday 7pm from Newark live on Comcast SportsNet), Buffalo Sabres @ Washington Capitals (Sunday 3pm from Verizon Center live on Comcast SportsNet/NHL Network)

No doubt the highlight of the first weekend of hockey season was a celebrity sighting in Dallas…

That’s a pretty big get.

5. Pro Wrestling: WWE Royal Rumble (Sunday 8pm from Phoenix live on Pay-Per-View)

Less me, more AJ Lee.

Not sure if you are into this, but did you see the video of Heart performing “Stairway to Heaven” at the Kennedy Center Honors? Jason Bonham (son of John) is playing the drums. I found it to be quite moving.
