Top 10 Baseball Distractions

4. NHL: Carolina Hurricanes @ Washington Capitals (Thursday 7pm from Verizon Center live on Comcast SportsNet), Colorado Avalanche @ Washington Capitals (Saturday 7pm from Verizon Center live on Comcast SportsNet), Edmonton Oilers @ Washington Capitals (Monday 7pm from Verizon Center live on Comcast SportsNet)

Joel Ward lived my nightmare Saturday morning, getting locked inside a bathroom stall.

Okay, honest question. Why wouldn’t he have just gone over the top of the door to begin with. It’s not that significant of a fall. I know he’s a pro athlete and probably worried about falling on his wrist or something, but I’d take that risk WAY before I’d sit in a bathroom for 40 minutes. Ugh.

3. Running: Baltimore Running Festival (Saturday 8am Inner Harbor Marathon live on WBAL11)

Running and I don’t have a whole lot in common, so I don’t have a lot of analysis to offer here. I guess…take care of your nipples?

Elsewhere, I appreciated a little Baltimore Orioles love on Wheel of Fortune Monday night. It wasn’t really, but I’ll force what I can get.

2. College Football: Virginia @ Maryland (Saturday 3:30pm from Byrd Stadium live on ESPNU); Navy @ Duke (Saturday 12:30pm from Durham, NC live on ACC Network-WJZ 13 locally); Villanova @ Towson (Saturday 7pm from Unitas Stadium live on NBC Sports Network); Oregon @ Washington (Saturday 4pm from Seattle live on Fox Sports 1)

There’s less than zero good to say about the University of Maryland at the moment. It was perhaps the worst week ever. But there’s something here that always makes me feel better.

You already do our country’s work, Mids. Now we just need you to do it for the rest of the world.

1. NFL: Green Bay Packers @ Baltimore Ravens (Sunday 1pm from M&T Bank Stadium live on FOX)

At some point before the game starts, I’ll probably stop laughing at John Harbaugh’s missed chest bump. I mean, probably.

Flexing my mic muscles since 1983…
