Rookie linebacker Ray Lewis led a defense that couldn’t stop anybody en route to a 4-12 record in 1996, but the Ravens basked in the glory of a convincing 31-17 victory in a deluge of rain at Memorial Stadium.

Jonathan Ogden caught a 1-yard touchdown on a tackle-eligible play, Bam Morris rushed for 100 yards, and receiver Derrick Alexander and tight end Eric Green caught touchdowns to give Baltimore’s new franchise its first victory over the Steelers, the team fans wanted to hate, even in Year One.

The win also marked the last time the Ravens would beat the Steelers in Baltimore until 2003.
