A great day at M&T Bank

July 27, 2007 |

With all that is wrong in the NFL right now, the experience that I had to day at Daniel Wilcox’s FREE football camp today at M&T Bank Stadium was eye opening.

First I will say that I am a huge Dan Wilcox fan, more of him the person than the football player, and that is no knock on him as a player. To give of his time the way that he did today was an amazing thing.

Dan did not just lend his name to the event, he was there instructing and participating in the drills. Over 200 kids had an experience that will last them a lifetime, playing on an NFL field with NFL players.

Talk about supporting your teammates, here is the list of Dan’s teammates that participated in the event today:
Atiyyah Ellison
Gerome Sapp
Justin Green
Jamaine Winborne
Corey Ivy
Evan Oglesby
Chris McAlister
Ed Reed
Mark Clayton
Ray Lewis

Not only was Dan teaching about football skills, but also about life skills. I can not count the amount of times players told these young men how important it was to have their grades right beyond anything else.

As usual the Ravens helped to put on a top notch event including all the help from the many, many sponsors that joined in today.

I personally would like to thank Dan Wilcox, all the Ravens players that joined Bob and Rob during their show’s, Sherri from Downtown Locker room, Greg from TAG, and most of all Kathleen from MGH, for all of their help for making today a fun event.
