The last time that the Baltimore Orioles had four players headed to the All Star Game was in 2005. That is when Brian Roberts, Miguel Tejada, Melvin Mora and B.J. Ryan were selected. This year Orioles fans are proud to send three starters. They include Adam Jones, Chris “Crush” Davis and J.J. Hardy. Manny Machado was selected as a reserve from the players’ ballot. All four guys have proved over and over why they deserve to be labeled “All Stars”… This is not the first trip to the All Star game for Jones and Hardy. Chris Davis and Manny Machado will be going as a first timers. And I think we all know, this will not be their last time.

“I think reality has set in but it’s kind of surreal,” Adam Jones said. “We have four guys up here obviously because we’ve earned it and deserve it. It’s humbling to go there and share it with my teammates, guys I spend most of my life with.”

Chris Davis will be participating in the home run derby as well.

Before the All Star game, the Orioles must finish up this series with the Rangers and play three games against the Blue Jays. be sure to tune in tonight at 7:05pm as the Orioles take on the Rangers at home for the second game of a four game series. Pitching for the Rangers is left handed pitcher Martin Perez and starting pitcher for the Orioles is Zach Britton.

LET’S GO O’s!!!
