Are YOU ready?

Well sports fans, this is the time of year we in Baltimore have all been waiting for since January. Approximately 730pm tomorrow night, baseball season will officially be dead around these parts.

As predicted by many, the Orioles are entrenched in last place, 15 games out of 1st place and heading toward an unprecedented 11th straight losing season. Although the Orioles have shown flashes of greatness this season I believe they are maybe 2 or 3 games better than last season at this point. Other than the prospect of becoming the 50 millionth fan to enter OPACY, there’s nothing much left to care about the “other” team in Baltimore.

People have been itching for football since the final knee was taken by Troy Smith here about 8 1/2 months ago. Now they have their wish again. We are 0-0 and tied for 1st in the AFC North. There’s hope to make the playoffs. The defense is (uhh ohhh, here we go again..) almost as good as the 2000 defense. There will be a quarterback controversy BEFORE opening game.

So, how long will it be before the first boos hurled toward Boller or Smith are heard at the Bank Vault? How long will it be before we hear fans calling for Harbaugh’s head? (there are already some who think Ozzie is next on the short list of potential firings) Will the name Flacco Flacco Flacco be echoed over and over? Will the fans of the Baltimore Ravens be satisfied with a 2nd consecutive losing season? How many 8 dollar beers will you have?

Enjoy the game everyone. It’ll be interesting to say the least
