Aubrey Huff groin injury, Lee Smith, and as the Ravens coaching carousel turns

January 09, 2008 |

-          Seeing in the Baltimore Sun article that Aubrey Huff is suffering from a pulled groin muscle make me wonder if Aubrey is doing conditioning drills for when he goes on the road this year.
-          How Lee Smith is not in the Hall of Fame is an absolute mystery to me. Good for Gosse Gossage getting in, but look at Lee Smith’s numbers and compare them to the five relief pitchers that are in the Hall of Fame:
1.      Hoyt Wilhelm
2.      Rollie Fingers
3.      Dennis Eckersley
4.      Bruce Sutter
5.      Goose Gossage
Again can someone please explain this to me.

-          The Ravens coaching search has gotten interesting and will continue to now with
the opening in Washington. Profootballtalk.com is saying that Rex Ryan might get a look in Washington because he has the same agent as Redskins front office guy Vinny Cerrato. Rex is also rumored to maybe be going to Cincy to join Marvin Lewis if he does not get a head coaching job. There is also a strong belief that Jim Schwartz could get a serious look at by the Atlanta Falcons. Adam Schefter of the NFL Network and NFL.com has a very good article about how Bill Cowher is not interested in any head coaching job no matter what the amount of money that is thrown his way. Adam also goes on to say that there is a chance that Tony Dungy could call it a career at the end of the season.
