Baltimore Area College Soccer Part 4

March 24, 2008 |

The last of the 4 coaches that I want to talk about is the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Mt. St. Mary’s, Robbie Ryerson. He is a relative newcomer to the Baltimore area coaching ranks being in only his 7th season. But he is not a newcomer to Baltimore area soccer overall!!

Coach Ryerson, like the other three coaches I have talked about, has been a star at every level that he has played on. Starting at Oakland Mills to UNLV to the US National Team and to the Pros. Coach Ryerson was named to several All-American teams while at UNLV and later was elected into the UNLV Hall of Fame. He is also a member of the Maryland Soccer Hall of Fame.

Coach Ryerson has played for the Maryland Bays, the Tampa Bay Rowdies, the Baltimore Blast, the Washington Warthogs, San Diego and Fort Wayne at the professional level; as well as the US National Team.

With the talent that Coach Ryerson has recently recruited from the Baltimore/Washington area he will have the Mt. St. Mary’s Men’s Soccer Team back to the level of play that he is use too. Coach Ryerson currently has 10 area players on his roster.

A message to parents who have children who play Soccer. All four of the coaches that I have spoken about over the past four days have Soccer Camps during the summer. If you want your child to become a better player then check out their camps!! Which one is the best?? Hard to say!! But all four of these men know the game of soccer and will teach your child the best way they know how.

Now if you should have one of these four coaches show up recruiting your son; feel honored. Open the door and listen to what they have to say!!
