BLAST MOVES TO 3-0 AND OTHER THOUGHTS…

November 04, 2007 |

The Blast moved to 3-0 with a 17-6 win over Orlando last night. It’s good to see the 2007 version of the Blast did not take the expansion Sharks lightly.

"Wrestling meets Indoor Soccer." Rey Mysterio of WWE fame is planning on wearing a California Cougars jersey at the next WWE event in Stockton. Rey and Cougar player Eduardo Velez are cousins. Rey will be sporting Velez’s jersey and then his own personalized one with "619" which is a call to Rey’s finishing move in wrestling. Let’s hope the Cougars can start finishing some games with a win.

"No Kixx in Philly." The defending champs look bad so far. They lost again 17-6 to Detroit and have started 0-2, only averaging 6 points a game. The roster could use a shake-up as losing Genoni Martinez, Dino Dilevski, and Shaun Bonne have taken a toll on the champs.

"Chicago Sizzles." The Storm are off to a 2-0 start and are a real threat in the table. I hope the crowds catch on in Chi-town, as they seem to have trouble getting four thousand fans consistently.

"Monterrey Magic?" Well not so far but a very good start from enthusiastic fans and a team that fought until the end vs Chicago in their season opener. The travel will be the toughest part for this team and for the visiting teams as well.

The Wave have a "Deco"-rater. Deco will have a huge impact on the MISL and he seems to be the most promising of the new Brazilian wave coming to the MISL. He scored the double overtime clincher for the Wave on Saturday as they defeated expansion New Jersey 10-8.
