WOW! What a fantastic game. The game of indoor soccer itself is a wonderful product when it is played at this level and with the heart and guts that these two MISL rivals, the Milwaukee Wave and the Baltimore Blast played with again this semi-final series. Today Baltimore survived 14-13 to advance to the MISL championship next Saturday in Milwaukee vs. either Detroit or Monterrey. After trailing 5-4 at half-time the Blast made their charge in the 3rd quarter when Machel Millwood made it 6-5. Lucio, Millwood, Celenza, and Matt Watson rounded out the Blast scoring with Hammes, Howes, Michael King, and Maher keeping the Wave close. With the 6th attacker the Wave hit the post twice in the last 1 minute 34 seconds. Just 2 minutes before the Blast had to kill off a two minute penalty on Billy Nelson who was called for tripping Michael King. Also Sagu saved a shoot out attempt as a result of that penalty call on Nelson. Again the Blast survived the referees and the Wave in their building to advance to the Championship final next weekend. the game can be seen on FSC next Saturday. The scoring summary courtesy of the MISL is below.
