Caps Play Division Rival in Round 2

April 28, 2011 | Marty Mossa

The Washington Capitals will start the second round of the playoffs tomorrow night at the Verizon Center in D.C.  They will play their division rival the Tampa Bay Lighting.   The Capitals were 4-2 against Tampa during the regular season.  The only other time these two teams met in the post season was in 2003.  Tampa Bay won that series four games to two.

Much is expected of the Capitals this year.  It is important to win this series and move on.  It would be a big disappointment to the Washington faithful if the Caps cannot win this round.

The winner of this round will face the winning of the Boston/Philadelphia series for the Eastern Conference Finals.  In the Western Conference, Vancouver will play Nashville, and San Jose will go up against Detroit.
