The Comcast Morning Show is excited for the debut event of our 2009 initiative, “Celebrating our Community”, set for next Friday, January 9 at Maryvale Prep in Lutherville.
Next Friday, Maryvale plays Mount de Sales in a high school basketball at 7pm. That’s the primary reason we’re all gathering at Maryvale, but there’s a lot more to it than that.
I will be hosting a VIP Reception (in the Castle at Maryvale) prior to the game for 40 WNST listeners. Former Ravens’ coach Brian Billick and longtime Orioles great Ken Singleton are just two of our celebrity guests-of-honor for the VIP reception. There are currently only 18 tickets remaining for the VIP Party ($50 each). Included in the VIP party is seafood from Conrad’s Crabs, refreshments and the chance to talk sports with our celebrities in attendance, including Billick, Singleton and others. The VIP reception is at 5:30. At 7pm, we’ll make our way over to the gym for the game between Mount de Sales and Maryvale.
All proceeds from our event (VIP party, game ticket sales and raffle/auction items) will go to the Erinn McCarthy Scholarship Fund at Maryvale and a “Think Pink” breast cancer research fund established recently at Mount de Sales.
Among the outstanding raffle items we’ll have on hand that night: a Joe Flacco autographed football, four tickets in a VIP suite for a Washington Capitals home game later this season, photos of great moments in Baltimore sports by Kevin Allen and much, much more.
“Celebrating our Community ’09” is WNST’s way of galvanizing our listeners to show their support and spirit for various events and programs in and around the Baltimore area that are in need of improvements in both promotions/awareness and charitable fund-raising.
At a minimum, I plan on investing my time and energy in at least six of these events in ’09, starting with January 9 at Maryvale.
If you’d like to purchase one or more of the remaining 18 tickets for the VIP Reception (a game ticket is included…raffle tickets are available at the door for a nominal charge) on Friday night at 5:30 pm, please e-mail directly at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
I promise you’ll have a great time watching the game and seeing first-hand how both Maryvale and Mount de Sales are producing outstanding young women for our community.
