February 02, 2009 | Drew Forrester

It took visiting Boston University ten minutes to get going tonight, but once they started rolling UMBC never recovered and the Terriers improved to 7-2 in the America East conference with an 82-65 win over the Retrievers at the RAC Arena.

The Retrievers hopped out to a 16-6 lead nine minutes into the game but Boston U. rallied for an 18-0 run en-route to a 35-30 halftime lead.  Jake O’Brien then started the second half hitting his first three shots from the 3-point arc and the Terriers led by double digits throughout much of the final five minutes of the game as UMBC fell to 3-7 in conference play.

O’Brien finished the game with 25 points as B.U. finished the night with four players in double figures.

Darryl Proctor led the Retrievers with 18 points.
