Color the MAJOR changes purple…

A bunch of news and notes from today’s season-ending finale vs. Pittsburgh.

> Although this issue might take a few weeks to play out in its entirety, Brian Billick will bring in an Offensive Coordinator for 2008 and the "entire set of duties" will go to the newcomer.  The formal announcement will come during this Wednesday’s press conference with Billick, Ozzie Newsome and Steve Bisciotti, but Brian is going to hand over the entire offense to a fresh face.  I have heard of a name circulated occasionally at Owings Mills.  Can’t go on the record with the name yet, but I’ll say this:  He’s in the league right now and the Ravens played "his team" recently.  Oh, and he’s VERY familiar with the AFC North.

> I’m hearing "several" coaching changes are in the offing.  I’m not sure these will be announced by the Wednesday press conference, but you can do the quick guesswork yourself and figure it out.  All you have to do is look at the areas the team has struggled in recent weeks and start to put 1 and 1 together.

> As for the QB situation, I’m about 90% sure right now that Steve McNair will NOT be back in ’08 and the always-exciting "quarterback competition" will be launched in training camp between Kyle Boller and Troy Smith.  A source in Owings Mills told me over the weekend that the team will most likely NOT draft a quarterback next April.

> Any questions about whether or not Derrick Mason or Trevor Pryce will both be back can be squelched.  They will BOTH return with the Ravens in ’08.
