Congratulations to WNST: 10 Years of Service to the Baltimore Sports Community

August 08, 2008 |

The big party is about to begin down at Sports Legends Museum. And as usual, I’m running late…

But congratulations are in order to everyone involved with WNST; from Nestor on down to the listeners.

I’ve been listening to WNST for about five years now and have been fortunate enough to be able to contribute to the station through interning and blogging. It’s been a great experience. My favorite moment was attending training camp on a pretty regular basis with former sports night host Michael Popovec. I had been to training camp before, but never had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the players on the level that the media members do on a daily basis. For example, it’s a little different running into Jonathan Ogden outside on the practice field than seeing him walk down the a tiny hotel hallway…it’s quite humbling even for a 6’5″ guy like myself.

Anyway, I’m leaving now for Sports Legends with my mom, dad, and uncle. We’re going to the game afterward (and have some REALLY nice seats…1st row behind the Rangers’ dugout.) I hope to see you all there. Go Birds!
