Elizabeth Lambert gets the boot

November 11, 2009 | Drew Forrester

By now, you’ve probably seen the video of last week’s NCAA Women’s soccer match between New Mexico and BYU.  If not, here’s your chance to see what Elizabeth Lambert did during that game.

Afterwards, the BYU coach called her tactics “despicable”.  The WAC Commissioner called for a full investigation.  And John Harbaugh called her and asked if she’d like to play in the Ravens secondary.

For her rough (kindly) play in the BYU game, Lambert has now been suspended by New Mexico.  Seems kind of reasonable to me.

There are about 25 Facebook groups right now related to Elizabeth Lambert.

Here are some of the best ones:

* I’m glad Elizabeth Lambert is not my girlfriend.

* Don’t beat your kids, let Elizabeth Lambert do it for you.

* Cut Frank Walker and sign Elizabeth Lambert (if you do a little research, you’ll see this page was started by R. Lewis, Baltimore MD)

* Elizabeth Lambert could beat up Danny Briere of the Flyers (I started that one).

Personally, I think the Washington Capitals should give Lambert a contract for the remainder of the 2009-2010 season.  After all, they’re in dire need of a physical defensive player.
