In the early morning hours of August 18th, James and Ethyl Privott were packing up their fishing gear at Fort Armistead Park near the Key Bridge in South Baltimore, when they were attacked by three men. Mr. Privott, 76 years old, was beaten with what was thought to be a sledgehammer while his assailants shouted racial slurs. He was taken to Shock Trauma with a possible broken eye socket and two lost teeth. Fortunately his wife was unharmed.
Through community tips, the three assailants were apprehended.
The Charm City Roller Girls would like to continue offering Mr. & Mrs. Privott the support of the community by sponsoring a fundraiser this weekend to offset any medical expenses and personal hardship as a result of this disturbing act of violence. Charm City hosts national powerhouse Philadelphia this Saturday at DuBurns Arena and will donate 5% of beer sales to Mr. & Mrs. Privott, in addition to a $150 gift certificate to Dick’s Sporting Goods to replace his lost fishing gear. We will be soliciting donations from those in attendance as well as online at www.CharmCityRollerGirls.com.
Your Charm City Roller Girls thank you!!
