Fantasy Football Schedule Keys

August 19, 2008 | Thyrl Nelson

Those who have been listening to my show over the last 2 weeks know that I have been working on a fantasy football schedule key. For those unfamiliar, here’s what it is:

Last year, I found ESPN’s Fantasy points against rankings very useful in putting together lineups, especially for salary cap leagues, like ours here at WNST. The rankings essentially tell you who are the best and worst teams to start your fantasy players against at each position.

Below is this season’s NFL schedule broken down for fantasy QB, RB, WR and TE. There are green lights for the best 10 teams to start that position against, and red lights for the worst 10 draws, the rest are in yellow. It sheds some pretty interesting light on your upcoming drafts.

Last year I had success putting Word docs up as attachments here in this blog, but I can’t seem to do it now. You should be able to cut and paste the charts pretty easily into a word processing program and print using the landscape setting. Below each chart is a breakdown of the red, yellow and green light teams for that position, and some of their stats. Remember, these are based on average fantasy points allowed to each position last season in a standard scoring system.

I’ll be posting my positional rankings in the coming days too. If you’re interested, you can email me for the charts in an easy to print format.

Peace,
T
