From 1 Winning Drive: Cuts for the Ravens

September 02, 2007 | WNST Staff

The axe fell for 20 now ex-Baltimore Ravens late Saturday afternoon as the club got to the roster limit of 53 players:

Anthony Bryant (DT, 6-3, 337, 3rd-year, Alabama)
Romby Bryant (WR, 6-1, 181, 1st-year, Tulsa)
Atiyyah Ellison (DT, 6-3, 318, 3rd-year, Missouri)
Jamar Enzor (LB, 6-1, 238, 1st-year, Cincinnati) Waived/Injured
Mike Kracalik (T, 6-8, 337, 1st-year, San Diego State)
Keyonta Marshall (DT, 6-1, 330, 2nd-year, Grand Valley State)
Clarence Moore (WR, 6-6, 220, 4th-year, Northern Arizona)
Ikechuku Ndukwe (G, 6-4, 338, 2nd-year, Northwestern
Evan Oglesby (5-10, 185, 2nd-year, North Alabama)
Chris Pino (G, 6-5, 315, 1st-year, San Diego State)
Ryan Riddle (LB, 6-2, 260, 3rd-year, California)
Brian Rimpf (G, 6-5, 318, 4th-year, East Carolina)
Cory Ross (RB, 5-6, 201, 2nd-year, Nebraska)
Bill Swancutt (DE, 6-4, 270, 2nd-year, Oregon State)

The Ravens have also released the following rookie players:
Kendrick Ballantyne (TE, 6-4, 243, Northeastern)
Marcus Freeman (TE, 6-2, 246, Notre Dame)
Willie Gaston (CB, 5-10, 187, Houston)
Damien Linson (WR, 5-10, 186, Central Michigan)
Joe Martin (LB, 6-1, 229, San Diego State)
Matt Willis (WR, 5-11, 185, UCLA)

None of the cuts surprised me at all. In fact, I had said for the last week or so that I saw no room on this team for Clarence Moore and Cory Ross. Moore was way too one-dimensional and was not even good at that dimension, and Ross was just simply a guy who would have been eating up a roster spot for a #4 RB and #3 PR/KR guy.
