Game 5 Live @ Verizon-Avery Out!

April 24, 2009 |

We are getting set for Game 5 at Verizon Center between the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals.  It’s do or die time for Bruce Boudreau and the boys , as they are of course down 3-1 in the series.

It doesn’t matter if they have outplayed the Rangers, and they have.  All that matters is they better find a way to get on the board early and often and bury the Blue-shirts and carry some momentum back to the Big Apple on Sunday.

I’ll update during the game, as time allows…but wanted to pass along that Sean Avery is out of the lineup for the Rangers, after taking too many dumb penalties and being a somewhat “worthless” pest for the Rangers.

This can be good news for the Caps as Avery is talented and can play mind games with you.  It can also be bad for the Caps, as Boudreau alluded too pregame during a very short media session — Avery’s penalties have put the Caps on the Power Play.

It’s not happening tonight.  So the Caps are going to have to probably sore more on the even strength situations.

Time to Rock the Red or the Caps will be feeling very “Blue” all summer long.
