Harbaugh should throw out first pitch on March 31

February 12, 2008 | Drew Forrester

Far be it for the fans to actually contribute a reasonable – and intelligent – marketing concept for the Mid Atlantics, but one of our regular callers, Greg in Northeast, chimed in with a perfect scenario to open the baseball season on March 31 at Camden Yards.

John Harbaugh should throw out the first pitch on March 31.

No further discussion necessary.

It’s the right thing to do.

It was the right thing to do back on January 13, 2006, just days after Cal Ripken Jr. was announced as the newest member of the baseball Hall of Fame, when the Ravens had Cal serve as the honorary team captain at midfield prior to the playoff game vs. Indianapolis.

It was the right thing to do to have Cal involved and the Ravens knew it.  And, they followed through.

It’s the right thing to do to have John Harbaugh on the pitcher’s mound on March 31.

The question of the day, though…will the Mid Atlantics do the right thing?
