Heeeeere’s Johhny ….. and Warren, Bruno and Peter

July 09, 2009 |

Well, we’re just two days away from our big fundraising marathon, “Curing Cancer ….. One Call At A Time.” As you’ve heard, we’ll be delivering 24 HOURS on non-stop sportstalk and entertainment, in the name of raising money for Baltimore’s effort in fighting and treating cancer.

And, we’re not doing this alone. In fact, some very credible personalities from across the world of sports will be lending a hand during the program. Names and commitments are trickling in – but, our first wave of guests is confirmed. They are …..

Warren Moon – that’s right, the 9-time Pro Bowl Selection and NFL Hall Of Famer will be joining us for a few minutes during the show. His scheduled appearance is at 3pm, on Saturday afternoon and he’ll be able cover all areas of conversation, to include trailblazing a prominence for African American quarterbacks, as well as the tangible on-field differences between the NFL and CFL.

Peter Gammons – yep, THAT Peter Gammons. You don’t hear him doing local radio, do you? This Major League Baseball Hall Of Famer has graciously decided to give us a few minutes (TBA) in the name of combating cancer. And, we’ll also discuss BALTIMORE BASEBALL. Personally, I’m just hoping Jason Jubb can control himself for the most anticipated 5 minutes of his life …..

Bruno Sammartino – you remember REAL RASSLIN’, right? I’m talking about the days of BoBo Brazil, Waldo Von Erich, Baron Mikel Scicluna, Ivan Kohloff and Superstar Billy Graham. I’m eager to talk business with the GREATEST WWF CHAMPION, ever. And, I’ll get my shot at 4:30pm, on Saturday afternoon.

John Kruk – does anyone have a more notable Baltimore baseball history, without ever wearing an Orioles uniform? John Kruk is remembered for a few distinct “career moments.” Indeed, there is the 1993 All-Star Game, when he basically threw in the towel and bat, during his matchup with Randy Johnson. And, it was in Baltimore, when Kruker called it a career – after getting a final a hit. We’ll discuss these moments at 7am, on Sunday morning. That’s right, I said “7am on Sunday Morning” …..

More names to come, later today. Stay tuned to WNST and check my blog updates on WNST.net …..
